Science Probes for the iPad
Science is one of those subjects that really excite students because they get to see cause and effect, they get to create, record and then document results and they get to manipulate the variables that produce the data. Students then get to make connections between what they do and the real world.

Accessing Students Work on the iPad Digital Roadtrip
I saw this link on Twitter this morning via @jnxyz @digitalroadtrip. This is the sort of workflow that will make things easy for teachers. It is one of the concerns the new or reluctant teachers are concerned about. To be honest moving students work samples is something that, until you try it, you do not realise how time consuming it can be. I have included an image as a link back to the original site. Make sure that you have a look at the rest of the site for some good resources. Digital Roadtrip - Another great catch from the PLN of twitter.

10 Mind Mapping Tools 4 the iPad 2011
Brainstorming is a way for an individual or group to collect ideas about a specific problem or situation. The goal is to collect as many as you can and then go back and evaluate the ones that might be worth developing further. These ideas can then be developed, enhanced and modified.
Brainstorming is a great tool for educational situation where you want to develop and stimulate the creative process. The idea is that a shift in thinking can occur by collecting many ideas together around a particular concept. The process itself often spurs further ideas and so the process continues.
So if we have access to iPads then what apps are available for us to utilise the benefits of mind mapping. Here are a collection of apps that your students can use to create mind maps quickly and easily on their iPads.

Visual Timers for your iPad Classroom
Students do not always have a great sense of time and many of my students over the years have miscalculated the time remaining on a particular task or assessment piece. This is a skill that they develop over time but not without some devastating consequences. Start to generate better time management in your class with the use of one or more of these visual timers.
